LOS ANGELES — The development of new technologies and innovative concepts are constantly changing how different industry verticals operate. This is especially true within the broadcast and entertainment industry, where consumers are upgrading to the latest and greatest TVs on an almost yearly basis.

Nielsen reports that Americans watch an excess of 8 billion hours of content monthly via connected TV devices alone. Fresh from their debut at CES 2019, 8K TVs are set to take consumers by storm in the coming years. While 8K was first introduced back in 2013, these TVs are now more readily available than ever before, with most major manufacturers now producing them and hopping on the 8K train.

What does this mean for the industry? Is 4K out, now that 8K is in?
