Todd Reigle, Promotions Director for RadiOhio’s 97.1 The Fan (WBNS-FM Columbus, OH) will spend five days on a bicycle for an event called Honor Ride Ohio, benefitting veterans.  Reigle will be joined by four military vets for the ride slated to begin on 6/30 in Sylvania, OH and finish in Cincinnati on 7/4.  The goal is to raise $100,000 for six veterans organizations.

Motivated by an interest in history and serving those who put it all on the line for the United States of America, Reigle wanted to develop an event that gave back to those men and women who have given their time, heart and soul and lives to ensure freedom continues to ring. The ride will benefit Honor Flight Columbus, Hidden Scars Foundation, the Wounded Warriors Project, Ohio Fallen Heroes Scholarship Fund, Ohio Combat Veterans and the Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial.

Reigle will be joined on this 400 mile trek by retired military personnel; Matt Miller (Marine Corps), Mick Karp (Army), Daniel “Hutch” Hutchinson (Army), and Adrienne Corna (Ohio Army National Guard).  All five will leave Sylvania, Ohio on the morning of 6/30 with many stops planned along the way to honor veterans from the state of Ohio.

“This ride is the product of many hours of planning, dreaming and training and above all caring for the Vets”, said Reigle. He also stated that “this is the least I could do to show my support for the veterans and help raise money for trips to DC for the WWII veterans, remember those who have died in the war on terror, support those who are battling PTSD and assure the children of our soldiers who laid down their lives, that college is part of their future.”

Stops will be made in Lima, Kenton, Sunbury, Columbus, London, Dayton and Cincinnati with wreaths to be laid at various veterans’ memorials.
