Following the success of its Alternative 97X WSUN-FM Tampa, (www.97xonline.com), Cox Media Group Miami is also adding Listener Driven Radio (LDR)’s interactive experience in South Florida with “Hip-Hop Takeover” on market leader, Urban WEDR-FM. The move is also likely in response to CCME’s recent switch from Adult Hits “Variety 103.5” to “The Beat—Miami’s Bangin’ Hip-Hop.”
“The 99 Jamz ‘audience take-over’ allows 99 Jamz listeners to have their say in what we play, and at the same time creates a live, local music experience shared by Hip Hop fans across South Florida – and only on 99 Jamz,” said CMG Miami VP/GM Rob Babin.
Jamz listeners now can control the Hip-Hop that plays during various day parts via www.WEDR.com and the 99 Jamz mobile app.
Earlier this year, 99 Jamz launched LDR’s interactive music app, GRÜVR. The app has been rated among the top 30 best free music apps in the Google Play store and has scored thousands of downloads, says LDR.
