A Broadcast Bump For Salem’s Cohen

The individual who in 2018 expanded Salem Media Group‘s digital sales program at the local level has just been elevated to the role of VP/Broadcast Digital.

It is a newly created and expanded role at Salem that will be held by Jamie Cohen, who will grow beyond “Salem Surround” to oversee all aspects of the broadcast division’s digital initiatives.

Cohen was VP/Local Digital until now, and her role is critical to the struggling Christian-themed and conservative Talk-focused media company’s push to provide new audio and video digital content offerings to consumers in the coming months and years.

Database building and monetization will also be in Cohen’s purview.

“I’m honored to be able to continue contributing to Salem’s expansion into greater levels of digital content strategy,” Cohen said. “With the launch of Salem Surround, we have really taken tremendous strides in strengthening our digital strategies as a company, and I’m excited to help expand even further.”

Cohen joined Salem in January 2018 and reports to Broadcast Media President Dave Santrella. “I am confident that we will see our digital efforts in the broadcast division grow and thrive under Jamie’s leadership,” he said.

Before joining Salem, Cohen served as Group Sales Director for the USA TODAY Network. He began his career in 2001 at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, as an AE, and eventually rose to Director of Advertising before leaving in October 2009. For the following three years, he served as Regional Sales Manager at ReachLocal.
