A David vs. Goliath story in Ohio

WOHL (Ch. 25, Fox) Lima, OH is celebrating its induction into the Fox #1 Club for being top rated in primetime in the market for both the February and May sweeps, beating long-time market leader WLIO (Ch. 35, NBC). Oh, did we forget to mention that WOHL is an LPTV, while WLIO is a full-power station?

"Our staff has worked tremendously hard to prepare for this opportunity and our station looks forward to even more growth and success in the future," said WOHL owner Greg Phipps. With Fox so strong in primetime with "American Idol," "House" and "Smarter than a 5th Grader," to mention a few of the shows, WOHL has also seen the audience grow for its "Fox 25 News at 10," with audience increases of over 200% from a year ago. " That's phenomenal growth for any television program and is unprecedented in local news growth for Lima," Phipps said.
