A Down Day For The Dow, And Media Stocks

U.S. financial markets declined on Tuesday, as volatility returned to Wall Street with a 171.58-point decline for the Dow Jones Industrials Average, to 25,007.03. The Nasdaq composite index was down 77.31, to 7,511.01. Big dips were seen for digital darlings including Twitter and Snapchat, while media companies such as Beasley Broadcast Group were also swept up in a red tide.


At the Closing Bell, BBGI shares were down 5.5%, to $10.35, reflecting a 60-cent drop.

But, that pales in comparison to Twitter, which slid $1.39 to $34.11, and Snapchat, which dipped 60 cents to $17.51.

Also down: Pandora Media — falling 17 cents to $5.

On the plus side: American Tower Corp., with the owner of broadcast and wireless communications structures seeing its stock rise $1.17, to $146.25.
