In another banner year, 2009 ranked as ABC Family’s most-watched year on record in Prime in Total Viewers (1.4 million), Adults 18-34 (329,000), Adults 18-49 (613,000) and Viewers 12-34 (545,000), as well as across key Women 18-34 (220,000), Women 18-49 (394,000) and Females 12-34 (374,000). In fact, 2009 marked the net’s 6th consecutive year of growth in Total Viewers, Adults 18-34 and Viewers 12-34, and the 4th straight year in Women 18-34 and Women 18-49.

Impressively, for the first time in the net’s history, ABC Family ranked among the Top 10 cable networks in Prime in Total Viewers (No. 10), Adults 18-34 (No. 8) and Adults 18-49 (No. 8), and among the Top 5 in Women 18-49 (No. 5). In Women 18-34, the network ranked a high No. 4 for the second straight year.

ABC Family’s No. 1 original series of all time, critically-acclaimed “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” stood as cable’s No. 1 series in Viewers 12-34 (2.6 million/2.8 rating), Females 12-34 (2.1 million/4.7 rating), Teens 12-17 (1.3 million/5.2 rating) and Female Teens (1.1 million/9.4 rating), and cable’s No. 1 scripted series in Women 18-34 (1.0 million/3.0 rating).

Hit freshman series “Make It or Break It” was cable’s No. 2 scripted series in 2009 in Females 12-34 (1.2 million/2.6 rating) and the No. 2 Female Teens (625,000/5.2 rating).

The debut of original movie “My Fake Fiance” (4/19/09, 8:00 – 10:00 p.m.) ranked as cable’s No. 1 movie in Women 18-34 (1.1 million/3.2 rating), and the No. 1 movie on ad-supported cable in Adults 18-34 (1.3 million/1.9 rating) and Women 18-49 (1.7 million/2.6 rating).
The premiere of original movie “Another Cinderella Story” (1/18/09, 8:00 – 10:00 p.m.) was cable’s No. 1 ad-supported movie in Total Viewers (5.7 million), Viewers 12-34 (2.4 million/2.6 rating) and Females 12-34 (2.0 million/4.3 rating), and the No. 2 ad-supported cable movie in Women 18-34 (806,000/2.4 rating) and Women 18-49 (1.4 million/2.1 rating).

Year-to-year in Prime, ABC Family delivered across-the-board growth, including by 8% in Total Viewers (1.4 million vs. 1.3 million), by 4% in Adults 18-34 (329,000 vs. 316,000), by 4% in Adults 18-49 (613,000 vs. 588,000) and by 5% in Viewers 12-34 (545,000 vs. 518,000).

In Total Day, 2009 also qualified as ABC Family’s most-watched year on record in Adults 18-34 (195,000), Women 18-34 (139,000), Adults 18-49 (330,000) and Women 18-49 (227,000).
