The final week of 2017 saw a film with a $40 million budget starring Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike get a major promotional push following its Dec. 22 limited release and wider release in January.

To reach consumers in the markets where the film is playing in cinemas, spot cable was the method of advertising, as seen in the latest Media Monitors Spot Ten Cable report.

The film is Hostiles, and it appears at No. 8 on the Spot Ten Cable chart for the week ending Dec. 31, 2017, thanks to the placement of 25,570 spots across the markets where the movie is playing in theatres.

Otherwise, it was a big week for online booking company TripAdvisor, with its 28,501 spots helping it jump to No. 4, from No. 57 last week.

Nutrisystem was also highly present on such networks as SyFy as several spots featuring Marie Osmond were shown across the network’s Twilight Zone marathon on Jan. 1.
