In a statement as to the value of its O&O’s local news operations, NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations has just promoted the Asst. News Director of KNBC-4 in Los Angeles to the role of President/GM of its two stations in the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose market.

Stacy Owen is now overseeing NBC O&O KNTV-11 and Telemundo O&O KSTS-48.

Her duties span from news, sales, marketing and promotions, technology, digital and community affairs, and now reports to NBCUniversal Owned TV Stations President Valari Staab.

“Stacy is a talented news professional and a strategic thinker,” Staab said. ” She has served as News Director for three stations prior to joining us in Los Angeles to help strengthen KNBC’s news efforts. She is a collaborative, inspiring manager, and a dedicated local broadcaster.”

Before joining KNBC in 2012, she served for three years as the news director for Hearst Television NBC affiliate WLWT-5 in Cincinnati.

Previous roles include stints at KXTV-10 in Sacramento, as News Director, and a similar role at KRON-4 in San Francisco—a former NBC affiliate famously stripped of its affiliation by NBCU.
