LAS VEGAS — For the first time, a FCC Chairwoman who didn’t have “interim” in her title appeared in a Fireside Chat at a NAB Show. And, for the first time, recently named President/CEO Curtis LeGeyt conducted such an interview … well, more like in-person chat show.
Given all of the differences of opinion between the Democratic FCC decision-makers and the NAB on topics such as broadcast ownership deregulation, there was certainly the possibility of an acrimonious moment or two. Not so, as LeGeyt kept it light and jovial by starting the conversation with memories of Connecticut that included Jessica Rosenworcel giving a shout-out to “96 TIC-FM” in Hartford, her station of choice growing up in the Constitution State.
