A New England radio industry veteran has been given national stripes as iHeartMedia‘s new SVP/Live Entertainment & Events.

Dennis O’Heron takes the role, within iHeart’s National Programming Group, after previously serving as both National Event Brand Manager in the group and as VP/Marketing for iHeartMedia’s Boston operations.

An “instrumental contributor,” O’Heron has played a key role in some of the company’s biggest events, including the inaugural 2011 iHeartRadio Music Festival.

At iHeart’s longtime CHR/Pop WXKS-FM “Kiss 108” in Boston, O’Heron introduced the multi-act concert, which helped lead to the national “JingleBall” iHeart-branded tour.

O’Heron reports directly to Tom Poleman, who serves as President of iHeartMedia’s National Programming Group.

O’Heron’s lengthy tenure in Boston dates to 1994, when he became Director of Marketing for CHR/Rhythmic WJMN-FM. In winter 2000, he added Asst. PD duties and in July 2001 ascended to the PD post.

He began his career as Promotions Director of WHJJ-AM & WHJY-FM in Providence.
