A Mixed End For Media Stocks

0

Friday saw wildly mixed trading for media stocks.

Among the decliners were Beasley Broadcast Group, Emmis, Entravision, and Gray Television.

Beasley shares were off 3.8%, to $12.80, while Emmis saw its second day of declines following the release of fiscal Q3 2018 earnings that disappointed many — including its CEO, Jeff Smulyan. Emmis finished the week at $3.02, down 4.1%.

Entravision shares were down 0.34%, to $7.35, as the company this week said goodbye to its regional Mexican “variety” format, José. It is now focusing on the regional Mexican hit format “La Tricolor,” and its regional Mexican gold format, “La Suavecita.”

For Gray Television, shares were off 2.1%, to $16.85.

Companies seeing gains include Salem, Saga and Townsquare Media.
