A Power Play Comes For A N.C. Class A FM

It may be only a 40-minute drive to Augusta, Ga., but the town of Trenton, S.C., until now has enjoyed its access to “Carolina Beach Music” by way of a Class A FM.

Now, that availability has been put into question: The station has been purchased by the operator of a Dove Awards “Radio Impact” award winner, a radio ministry known as The Power Foundation.

The foundation operates Christian Contemporary Music-focused TheLifeFM, focusing on Southern Gospel. It airs on 24 radio stations across 10 states stretching from Illinois to Florida, and it now appears that it will be added to WKSX-FM 92.7 in Johnston, S.C., due north of Aiken.

The deal is valued at $180,000, and a $9,000 escrow payment has been made to Putbrese Hunsaker & Trent, P.C.; John C. Trent is the legal counsel in the transaction representing the seller.

Serving as the broker is North Carolina-based Mark Jorgenson.
