A Ruddy Thursday For Radio, TV Shares

U.S. financial markets dropped sharply on Thursday as nervous investors reacted to a terror attack in the heart of Barcelona, Spain, that claimed the lives of 13 and injured 50.


At the Closing Bell on Wall Street, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 274.14, to 21,750.73. Nasdaq was off 123.19, to 6,221.91, for a sharp 1.9% decline.

Among the media companies falling on Thursday are iHeartMedia, with the company’s “stub” giving back 10%, ending at $1.80.

Cumulus Media dipped 1.2%, to 43 cents, while DISH Network fell 2.6%, to $56.94.

Travel industry stocks were particularly hit hard, with Norwegian Cruise Line off 3%, to $56.18, and Delta Air Lines down 5.2%, to $47.53.
