Since 1956, an AM/FM operation has served communities including Cookeville and Livingston, Tenn., with a variety of country music and locally focused programming.
Today, two FM translators are tied to these full-powered stations.
And, they are heading to a new owner, as the company led by J. Annette Oakley is selling them to another regional broadcast entity — one led by Larry Stone.
WLIV-AM in Livingston, Tenn., and WLIV-FM in Monterey, Tenn., are being spun by Sunny Broadcasting to Stonecom.
Along with the stations come W270DD and W282AG in Livingston.
The deal is valued at $275,000.
As part of the agreement, Sunny is removing a decommissioned broadcast tower tied to the stations in Overton County, Tenn.
This must be done at least 30 days prior to closing.
There is no broker or finder associated with this transaction.
Stonecom’s legal counsel in this deal is Liz Spainhour of Brooks Pierce.
With this transaction, WLIV-AM & FM will join a company with holdings comprised of WUCT-AM in Algood; WBXE-FM in Baxter; WLQK-FM in Livingston; and WKXD-FM in Monterey, Tenn.; in addition to two Cookeville FM translators.
