Broadcasting and traffic veteran Jim Battagliese has joined Total Traffic & Weather Network (TTWN) as Regional Director of Operations for the New York market, effective immediately.

Battagliese brings more than three decades of broadcast and traffic experience to the position and reports to TTWN RVP/Northeast Operations Hubert Clay.

In his new role, Battagliese will drive all aspects of delivering content development and superior traffic operations for the region’s 125+ broadcast television and radio affiliates, found in the New York, Nassau-Suffolk, Hudson Valley, Hartford-New Haven and Northern New Jersey regions.

Battagliese joins TTWN from Hubbard Radio’s WTOP-FM in Washington, D.C. where he served as Director of Traffic and Weather Operations since 2010. At WTOP, Battagliese established a dedicated staff and built out a stand-alone traffic “nerve center” servicing commuters in the nation’s capital.

Before that, Battagliese managed the Traffic Center for XM Satellite Radio prior to its merger with Sirius. He also held senior leadership positions at both Traffic.com and Shadow Broadcast Services, serving as VP/Operations.

“More Americans get their traffic information from TTWN than any other source, and continuing to provide our affiliates with industry-leading content and service is our number one priority,” said Kevin Loftus, SVP/Operations for TTWN. “Jim has an extensive background in traffic reporting operations. His leadership in TTWN’s New York regional market will have a tremendous impact on our ability to maximize results for our affiliates.”
