A Wall Street Media Analyst Takes A Turn To TEGNA

The managing director and senior equity research analyst for media, cable and telecom at a Wall Street financial house known for his participation on many a quarterly conference call is saying goodbye to judging the financial performance of radio and TV companies every three months.


Instead, he will be responsible for “managing all treasury and banking activities and communicating TEGNA’s growth strategy, financial performance and plans for building long-term shareholder value to investors, analysts and other external audiences.”

John Janedis is joining the company formerly known as Gannett as SVP/Capital Markets and Investor Relations.

Its a newly created role at TEGNA, and one that sees lead TEGNA’s treasury and investor relations functions. He’ll report to EVP/CFO Victoria Harker. VP/Investor Relations Jeffrey Heinz will report to Janedis.

Janedis was previously Managing Director and Senior Equity Research Analyst for media, cable and telecom at Jefferies LLC.

Janedis brings more than 20 years of management, equity research, markets and marketing experience to TEGNA. Prior to Jefferies, Janedis was Managing Director and Senior Equity Research Analyst at UBS Securities, covering large cap entertainment, newspaper and advertising companies. He has also held positions at Wells Fargo Securities, Banc of America Securities and Morgan Stanley.
