A Wall Street Rebound Includes These Media Companies

Wall Street’s wild rollercoaster ride continued on Monday, with the Dow Industrials soaring by 7.7% to 22,679.99, and the Nasdaq rising by 7.3%, to 7,913.24. Most radio and TV companies rode the wave.

Which ones saw the biggest gains on Monday?

The E.W. Scripps Co. saw shares surge by 35.1%, to $7.46, rising $1.94.

On the radio side, Cumulus Media enjoyed a 17.3% surge in value, to $3.93 — increasing 58 cents per share.

Other gainers include Beasley Media Group, with an important 8 cent gain bringing the beleaguered stock price up to $1.66; and Townsquare Media, up 9 cents to $4.31 for an equally necessary step in the right direction for a greatly depressed stock.

Not all media companies had a positive Monday. Entercom shares fell again, and are now at a point seen only once in modern memory — 2008, when a 67-cent finish was registered at the height of the great recession.
