ABC came in second with total viewers

Monday: ABC earned second place on Monday in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, while ranking #1 on the night among key Women demos (W18-49/W25-54).  ABC’s The Bachelorette ranked #1 from 8-10pm, beating NBC’s 2-hour season premiere of American Ninja Warrior by 1.3 million viewers and by 6% in Adults 18-49.  In addition, the ABC unscripted series was Monday’s­ #2 TV show with Total Viewers, behind only CBS’ Under the Dome. ABC’s Mistresses beat out NBC’s series debut of Siberia in the 10 o’clock hour by 16% in viewers.  The new drama was up by double-digit percentages year to year for ABC in the hour with viewers (+29%) and young adults (+10%), improving over original programming on the year-ago night.


Tuesday: From 8-10pm, ABC’s Extreme Weight Loss grew from its first hour to its second hour by 22% in Adults 18-49, despite strong competition from a 3-way reality battle in the 9 o’clock hour (CBS’ Big Brother, NBC’s America’s Got Talent and Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance). Extreme Weight Loss was up by double-digit percentages for ABC in the 2-hour time period from the year-ago night with viewers (+31%) and young adults (+25%).

Friday: At 8 o’clock, ABC’s encore Shark Tank stood as the most-watched show in the hour. In addition, Shark Tank was the #1 program on the major networks in Adults 18-49, defeating its repeat unscripted competition head-to-head in the hour on CBS by 22% (Undercover Boss) and on NBC by 83% (Siberia). Shark Tank was up week to week by 18% in Total Viewers and by 10% in Adults 18-49 to deliver its best numbers in 4 weeks – since 6/7/13. ABC’s What Would You Do? grew its overall audience over the prior week by 5% to post its most-watched telecast since early June – since 6/7/13.

Sunday: In the 7pm hour, ABC’s repeat America’s Funniest Home Videos took second place in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49.  During the 8 o’clock hour, ABC’s Celebrity Wife Swap grew week to week with key Women: W18-49 (+20%) and W25-54 (+7%).  Building on its Adult 18-49 lead-in by 11% at 9pm, ABC’s Whodunnit? retained 100% of its week-ago young adult number and gained 20% with Women 18-49.  During the 10 o’clock hour, ABC’s repeat Castle drew more viewers than NBC’s original Crossing Lines (+3%) and tied the first-run NBC drama across all key Adults (AD18-34/AD18-49/AD25-54).
