ABC stood as the 2nd-most-watched network overall on Friday and ranked #1 against its net rivals with Adults 18-34 and Women 18-34.

Building its numbers for the 2nd straight week, ABC grew over the prior week by 9% in viewers and by 8% in young adults.  In addition, the Net hit a 7-week high on the evening in Adults 18-34 – since 10/21/11.

At 8 o’clock, ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition ranked #2, outdelivering NBC’s first-run Chuck among Total Viewers and Adults 18-49.

Gaining viewers for the 2nd week in a row, Home Edition drew its biggest audience in the hour since the beginning of November – since 11/4/11.

Building sharply on its lead-in at 9pm, a second installment of Home Edition ran neck-and-neck with NBC’s original Grimm among viewers and young adults (AD18-34/AD18-49), while beating the high-profile NBC drama and winning the hour across all key Women demographics (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).

Home Edition surged week to week in Total Viewers (+13%) and Adults 18-49 (+15%), and achieved a best-since-premiere rating on the night with Adults 18-34.

During the 10 o’clock hour, ABC’s 20/20 earned second place among Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 and delivered the #1 position with Women 18-34. ABC’s 20/20 featured an exclusive interview with country star Mindy McCready, an investigation into India’s deadly secret, a preview of Barbara Walters Presents the 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011 and Kristen Wiig and Chelsea Handler speaking with Katie Couric about the 2011 year in film.

20/20 grew its overall audience week to week and equaled a season high among Women 18-34.
