ABC O&O Stations Group websites add ESPN video

ABC and ESPN announced that short-form video from ESPN, which includes game highlights, sports news and clips from ESPN programming, is now available at all 10 websites operated by ABC-owned local television stations through a multi-sport embedded ESPN syndicated video player.


“The addition of world-class ESPN video content gives visitors to our local station websites another compelling reason to log on for the best in multimedia news, weather, entertainment and now sports,” said Bill Burton, EVP/Digital Media, ABC Owned Television Stations Group. “The ESPN video player is a perfect addition to our local online sports content available at each of the ABC Owned Television Stations Group websites.” 

The multi-sport embedded video player offers highlights from games and major sporting events; original ESPN programming including “SportsCenter Right Now,” a twice-daily capsule of top sports stories, highlights and breaking news; and clips from ESPN programs such as “Mike and Mike in the Morning,” “Pardon the Interruption,” and “Around the Horn.”

The local station websites, which have expanded service with the ESPN video player, are ABC-owned WABC-TV in New York, KABC-TV in Los Angeles, WLS-TV in Chicago, WPVI-TV in Philadelphia, KGO-TV in San Francisco, KTRK-TV in Houston, WTVD-TV in Raleigh-Durham, KFSN-TV in Fresno, WJRT-TV in Flint and WTVG-TV in Toledo. The ABC Owned Television Stations Group also encompasses ABC National Television Sales, which provides sales representation for the 10 stations and for professional sports teams, place-based networks and other clients.
