A 13-year veteran of NBCUniversal who has most recently served as President and co-Managing Partner of Channel Media Solutions (CMS) has just been named SVP/Chief Technology Officer for Disney|ABC Television Group.
Now in the role is Mike Napodano, who is being called on by The Walt Disney Co. for his more than 20 years of technology leadership experience across the media, financial and banking industries.
He reports to President of Business Operations Bruce Rosenblum, and will serve as the most senior member of Disney|ABC’s technology team.
That’s a big post, as Napodano “will oversee the group’s long-term technology vision and implementation.”
Additionally, he will be responsible for media operations and distribution, network operations and engineering, IT strategy and operations, and an integrated enterprise-wide consumer data platform.
This includes a focus on the use, optimization and replenishment of current technology solutions, as well as an expanded responsibility for forward-looking digital technologies.
Napodano will also supervise the design and management of an enterprise-wide data platform for leveraging consumer data and driving business insights.
“Mike’s proven leadership and ability to work across multiple platforms have led to new innovative technologies that are being leveraged by our industry every day,” said Rosenblum. “Disney|ABC will benefit greatly from his fresh perspective, forward thinking and technical expertise as the media industry continues to embrace advancements in the digital space.”
Napodano added, “Disney|ABC has long been a leader in the technology space and has made pivotal contributions over the years. The rapidly changing landscape of both consumer habits and technology create great opportunities to innovate.”
Prior to joining CMS, Napodano held such roles at NBCUniversal as Chief Information Officer.
Prior to joining NBC Universal in 2004, he held technology positions at U.S. Wireless Data and at Phoenix Investment Partners.
