ABC’s fourth week in a row ‘Nightline’ hold No. 2 position in viewers

For the fourth straight week, ABC News “Nightline” was the No. 2 program among Total Viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research for the week of April 12, 2010. Additionally, “Nightline” continues to cut the total viewing and A25-54 gaps with NBC’s “The Tonight Show.” “Nightline” narrowed “The Tonight Show’s” total viewing (350,000) lead both week-to-week (-33%) and year-to-year (-72%).  Among Adults 25-54, ABC cut into NBC’s lead by -55% versus last year. 


Last week, “Nightline” reported on the volcano in Iceland, the state of the economy, a report about the harassment of a Muslim soldier in the U.S. Army because of his religious beliefs, and a profile of preacher Joyce Meyer.

 *Note:  “Letterman” aired repeats last week. 

ABC News’ “Nightline” is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Martin Bashir. John Donvan and Vicki Mabrey are correspondents. James Goldston is the executive producer. The program airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network.
