ABC's 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' growing in young adult viewers


ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Hits Season Highs in Viewers and Young Adults, Drawing its Largest Audience Since May and Best Adults 18-49 Number Since June . “JKL” Betters NBC’s “Fallon” in Adults 18-49 for the First Time This Season. “JKL” Beats CBS’ “Ferguson” in Adults 18-49 for the 4th Week in a Row.

Wednesday’s Airing Stands as “JKL’s” Most-Watched Telecast Since May.

Weekly National Ratings:
During the week of November 8, 2010, ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” registered season highs in both Total Viewers (1.83 million) and Adults 18-49 (745,000).  Building on the previous week by 6% in viewers and by 7% in young adults (1.72 million and 695,000 on w/o 11/01/10), “JKL” drew its largest weekly audience in nearly 6 months and best young adult performance in nearly 5 months – since w/o 5/24/10 and w/o 6/14/10, respectively.  In addition, “JKL” was up in viewers over the year-ago week (1.80 million on w/o 11/9/09), turning in its 4th consecutive week of year-to-year increases and up for the 6th time in 8 weeks this season.  

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” beat NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” in both Total Viewers (1.83 million vs. 1.61 million) and Adults 18-49 (745,000 vs. 725,000), topping the NBC program among young adults for the first time this season.  In addition, “JKL” outdrew “Fallon” in Total Viewers for the 4th time in the last 5 weeks.  

ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” bettered CBS’ “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” in Total Viewers (1.83 million vs. 1.77 million) and Adults 18-49 (745,000 vs. 683,000), outdrawing “Ferguson” in young adults for the 4th week in a row.  

Excluding the NBA Finals-led broadcast in June, “JKL’s” Wednesday telecast (11/10/10) attracted the ABC late-night program’s largest audience (2.23 million) on any night since May and highest Wednesday number in nearly 2 years – since 5/25/10 and 11/26/08.
