According to Nielsen Media Research, ABC News’ “Nightline” was the No. 2 program among Total Viewers, tying CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman” for the week of April 5, 2010. The program posted an average of 3.67 million Total Viewers for the week, marking the third straight week “Nightline” has ranked second. NBC’s “The Tonight Show” alternatively declined among Total Viewers for the third consecutive week and posted its lowest total viewer delivery since the second week of February.

Additionally, “Nightline” continues to cut the year-to-year gaps with “The Tonight Show.” Among Adults 25-54, ABC cut into NBC’s lead by 47% versus the same week last year. In total viewers, “Nightline” narrowed the gap with “Tonight” by 17% year-to-year.

*Note: “Letterman” was delayed and coded differently on Monday, April 5 due to the NCAA basketball championship and on Thursday and Friday, April 8 and 9, due to Masters Golf Highlights. As a result, the ratings for these three days are excluded from “Letterman’s” weekly average.

ABC News’ “Nightline” is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Martin Bashir. John Donvan and Vicki Mabrey are correspondents. James Goldston is the executive producer. The program airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network.
