ABC’s NY Med posts big week-to-week gains

ABCBuilding its numbers for the 2nd week in a row during Tuesday’s 10 o’clock hour, ABC’s NY Med shot up week to week in Total Viewers (+45%), Adults 18-49 (+43%) and Adults 25-54 (+40%). The show hit a 4-week high in the key Adult 25-54 news demo – since 7/17/12.


·         NY Med jumped over its lead-in at 10pm with Total Viewers (+147%) and Adults 18-49 (+67%), building audience for ABC in the hour for its 6th straight telecast.  Picking up audience throughout its broadcast, the sixth installment of the 8-part ABC News docu-series gained viewers (+10%) and young adults (+22%) from its first half-hour to its second half-hour.

·         Continuing to improve its time period year to year for ABC, NY Med surged over original programming on the year-ago night by double-digit percentages in Total Viewers (+17%), Adults 25-54 (+17%) and Adults 18-49 (+11%).

  1. As a Registered Nurse I think your NY Med series is excellent. However, I am offended the nurses are portrayed in such a sexist way. I really don’t think it is appropriate to show them being sexually harassed and then all the details about there boyfriends and vacations highlighting their bikini bodies. No male nurses or male doctors are portrayed this way. I have had to fight sexual advances from patients as well as staff and am offended with your sensationalism of it. I hope your show continues but can you stick to the medical stories which are what is truly excellent about the show?
