American Cable Association President and CEO Matthew Polka announced several staff promotions to reflect both the growth of the Association and recognize meritorious work performed over many years on behalf of the independent cable operator community.

With regard to ACA’s Washington policy efforts, Polka said ACA staff member Ross Lieberman will become Senior Vice President of Government Affairs. Lieberman joined ACA as Vice President in June, 2007

“Ross has done an outstanding job leading ACA’s policy efforts in virtually every key issue in Washington, both at the FCC and on Capitol Hill.” Polka said.  “ACA would not be the policy and advocacy organization it is without Ross’ key contributions.”

In ACA’s Pittsburgh Home Office, Robert Shema will become Executive Vice President of Membership/Finance and Chief of Staff, and Stacey Leech will become Senior Director of Meetings and Industry Affairs, Polka said.

Naming Shema as Chief of Staff represents organizational growth and a plan to help develop ACA’s staff and processes for the future, Polka said. Shema joined ACA as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in November, 2004.

“Rob knows our members and our organization, and in his new role he will help support and develop our team and also help us better plan for the future and improve each and every day,” Polka said. “Stacey has spent the last 14 years developing the ACA Summit into a must-attend event for independent providers.  We’ve just completed our most successful ACA Summit ever, but none of it would have happened without her tremendous efforts and leadership,” said Polka.  Leech joined the trade group in October, 1998, as executive assistant to the Chief Executive Officer.
