AccuHolidays.com launching new channel each day

Kurt Hanson’s/AccuRadio’s AccuHolidays.com is launching a new channel of holiday music every day this month and into December. Holiday-themed Internet radio channels currently available on the AccuHolidays.com website cover genres like rock, pop, country, jazz, classical, R&B, and Latin, focus on various themes (such as “Old-Fashioned Christmas”), and even play nothing but many different renditions of a single song, like a “Chestnuts Roasting” channel which features hundreds of versions of the classic tune “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire).”

By early December, the website will offer a total of over 40 different channels, according to Hanson.

“Christmas music is wildly popular on Internet radio,” VP/Programming Paul Maloney explained, noting that many webcasters see significant audience increases each November and December due to the demand for such music. Last year, data from Ando Media’s Webcast Metrics product indicated that more than 300,000 people listened to AccuHolidays’ holiday programming. This year we’ve added new music, new channels and of course Internet radio’s always picking up new listeners, so it’s certain that we’ll draw even more listeners this year.”

Hanson noted that AccuHolidays.com is the only brand of Christmas-themed Internet radio that offers personalizable channels, in which listeners have the ability to pause songs, skip songs, “deselect” artists (listeners can also browse through the list of artists in a particular channel to ban or re-add performers), and
even mix and match channels together.

This week’s additions to the AccuHolidays channel line-up include “Christmas Party,” a channel the programmers at AccuHolidays created “to be the perfect soundtrack to a holiday party,” Maloney said, “Holiday on Broadway,” “Religious Christmas Classics,” “Celtic Christmas,” and “Modern Classics.”

Upcoming channels will include “Channel O,” which is filled with different versions of all the Christmas songs starting with “O” (“O Holy Night,” “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “O Tannenbaum,” and so on), “Blue and White Christmas” (mixing many different renditions of “Blue Christmas” with many different variations of “White Christmas”), at least two Hanukah music channels, and a Smooth Jazz holiday music channel, Maloney said.

AccuHolidays.com is a spin-off brand of the award-winning Internet radio property AccuRadio.com. A list of many of the current and upcoming AccuHolidays channels is available at http://www.slipstreamradio.com/channels/index.php#Channel8.
