Acquisition leads to sale

VSS Catholic Communications filed to acquire a station moving into the Omaha market last summer. That means its KVSS-FM, already in Omaha, is expendable, and now Bible Broadcasting Network has stepped forward to claim it. In the immediate transaction, VSS will send KVSS-FM to Lowell Davey’s veteran non-com religious outfit for $825K. VSS will keep the call letters, however, and will transfer them to KBZR-FM Papillon NE (nee-Lincoln), which moved from Nebraska’s capital into the vicinity of its largest city. VSS acquired KBZR from Chapin Enterprises for $4.5M in a transaction filed 6/23/08.
