Actor Gene Barry dead at 90

Born Eugene Klass in New York City, the actor we all know as Gene Barry has died at age 90 at the Motion Picture Home in Woodland Hills, CA. The famed retirement home for actors is due to close by the end of this month and transfer its remaining residents to other nursing homes.


Barry appeared in numerous films and TV series over his long career. He is best known for staring in the title role of the “Bat Masterson” series on NBC in the late 1950s and early ’60s, as millionaire police captain Amos Burke on ABC’s “Burke’s Law” in the mid-’60s, and as crusading magazine publisher Glenn Howard on NBC’s “The Name of the Game” in the late ’60s and early ’70s.
