Mini-antenna streaming service Aereo has failed to make the numbers work and has filed for bankruptcy protection. CEO Chet Kanojia said that the company touched a nerve; it also touched off a firestorm of court action.
The NAB was a fierce opponent due to Aereo’s insistence that it could repackage local broadcast stations for consumers without paying for retransmission consent.
