Triton Media Group’s Triton Radio Networks has now bought long-time competitor Jones Media Group and its Jones Media America, Jones Radio Networks and JonesTM from Jones International Ltd (see Radio News). It looks like the agency community is confident in the deal:

Natalie Swed Stone, US Director, National Radio Investment, OMD: “It’s an incredible time that we’re working in right now. Change is happening all around us. I think this is very exciting news—certainly for David Landau and Ken Williams. They have worked very hard. They’ve done great things and experienced tremendous growth. They’re ahead of the curve in terms of technology and in service. I expect great things from the company.
Media America certainly has great assets—I’ve worked there—they also have great people. I think together it will be a very strong company and we look forward to partnering with them.”

Rich Russo, JL Media’s SVP/Director of Broadcast Services: “Basically everything David Landau has ever touched has been successful so if he’s heavily involved with this combined company, it will do great. “This creates a very major player in network radio and beyond.”
