A day after outlining changes she continues to make to turn around Cumulus Media, President/CEO Mary Berner announced an executive hire.
Christina Albee is the company’s new chief marketing officer, effective May 9.
Albee comes to Cumulus from Flipboard, a news magazine social media app. She’s coming back to Cumulus, having been instrumental in rebranding Westwood One in 2015 as chief marketing officer. She’s also held sales marketing positions at Conde Nast and Time.
In order to create what Cumulus says is “the most nimble and cohesive” marketing force the marketing team will be unified under Albee.
Pierre Bouvard had been the company’s chief marketing officer. Now he reports to Albee and
takes on the newly created job of Chief Insights Officer, where he will continue to lead research efforts. Now also reporting to Albee are VP Social Media Lori Lewis and SVP Brand Partnerships Tommy Page, including platform events and brand partnerships, NASH brand marketing initiatives and NASH Next.
Albee will be based in New York and report to Suzanne Grimes, president of the Westwood One division and EVP of corporate marketing for Cumulus Media.
