All indexes up; S&P hits another high

Stocks closed modestly higher on Thursday with the S&P 500 hitting an intraday record and finishing at an all-time high for the 13th time this year. Investors shrugged off data showing the economy contracted in the first quarter and focused instead on better-than-expected jobless claims and deal news in the food industry. The S&P closed 10.25 points, or 0.5%, higher at 1,920.03. The Dow added 65.50 points, or 0.4%, to 16,698.68. The Nasdaq ended the day up 22.87 points, or 0.5%, at 4,247.95.


The RBR Radio Index was down 13.713, or 1.5%, to 911.267.

The TVBR Television Index was down 1.478, or .2%, to 856.273.
