After recently moving its Sportsradio 95.5 The Game KXTG-FM to 750 AM and thereby featuring Newsradio KXL exclusively on FM, Alpha Broadcasting has announced what it’s doing with the 95.5 frequency (and it’s not bringing back Rocker KUFO): Offering up some of the biggest hits released over the past 10 years, Live 95.5: Today’s Modern Mix (KBFF-FM) signed on at 5pm PT 5/25, playing 10,000 songs commercial free.  The station, described as “Generation Next A/C,” will focus on artists such as Pink, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Adele, John Mayer and Lady Gaga, among others and target a female audience, ages 27-38.

The station is programmed by Keola Lui-Kwan, who has been Assistant Program Director/Music Director and Afternoon Drive Host on Alpha’s KUPL since December 2009.  Prior to that, he held similar posts at KBWF/San Francisco, was on the air at KBKS/Seattle, KCHZ/Kansas City, KWIN & KWNN/Stockton and KIKI/Honolulu.

“I have complete confidence that Keola is the man for the job,” commented Scott Mahalick, Alpha Broadcasting Director of Music Programming.  “This was an easy decision, especially when we have this caliber of talent right here in the building. Keola has a great feel for the music has already put his imprint on the sound and style of the New Live 95-5.  I’m excited to watch him excel as Program Director of our new station.”
