American IdolThe AMERICAN IDOL Top 13 finalists performed and gave FOX a dominant win last night among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54 and Teens.  In fact, FOX outperformed the combined 3-net competition last night by +10% among Adults 18-49 (5.6 vs. 5.1), +25% in Adults 18-34 (4.0 vs. 3.2) and +6% in Total Viewers (18.5 vs. 17.5 Mil.)


FOX also beat the next highest rated network for the night by +155% among Adults 18-49 (5.6 vs. 2.2 for CBS), +233% among Adults 18-34 (4.0 vs. ABC’s 1.2) and +113% in Total Viewers (18.5 vs. 8.7 for CBS).

FOX has now won eight Wednesdays in a row in the core adult demo and Total Viewers.

  • AMERICAN IDOL: 5.6/15, up +12% from last Wednesdayand will likely go up to a 5.7 in the finals this afternoon
    • IDOL was also up +18% in Adults 18-34 and +8% in Total Viewers last night
    • IDOL was the highest rated program of the night in Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54 and Teens and outperformed the #2 program of the night (Survivor) by +75% in Adults 18-49 and +75% in Total Viewers
    • Last night’s ‘Top 13 Finalists Perform’ episode grew +4% from Thursday’s ‘Top 13 Chosen’ episode than last season – the same episode was down -1% from the Thursday Top 13 Chosen night last year.

Competition
Following repeats of The Middle (1.5/5), Suburgatory (1.5/4), and Modern Family (2.4/6), ABC’s Happy Endings (2.0/5) posted its lowest rating of the season, down -26% from last week (2.7/7). At 10p, the ABC News special Revenge For Real: Murder In The Hamptons posted a 1.4/4.
CBS’ Survivor: One World (3.2/9) was up +10% from its performance last week (2.9/8), but through four telecasts remains off to its worst start ever (3.0/8). Repeats of Criminal Minds (1.6/4) and CSI (1.8/5) followed at 9p and 10p.
NBC ran original episodes of Whitney at 8pm (1.6/5, up+7%) and Are You There, Chelsea at 8:30pm (1.5/4, up +15%), followed by a repeat Law & Order: SVU (1.0/3) and an original Rock Center with Brian Williams (1.0/3).
