Last night, 01/19/10, FOX won the night across all key demos and dominated the next highest rated network for the night with advantages of +97% among Adults 18-49 (vs. NBC), +97% among Adults 18-34 (vs. NBC), +250% among Teens (vs. NBC) and +47% in Total Viewers (vs. CBS).
AMERICAN IDOL:
Week two of AMERICAN IDOL-TUE posted a 9.9/27 among Adults 18-49 last night, on par with last Wednesday’s telecast and up +9% versus last year’s Tuesday week 2 telecast on 1/20/09 (9.1/22). AMERICAN IDOL was also up compared to last year’s Tuesday week 2 telecast by +10% among Adults 18-34 and +14% in Total Viewers.
Last night’s AMERICAN IDOL outperformed the combined 4-net competition in the 8p hour by a substantial +41% among Adults 18-49, +68% among Adults 18-34, +130% in Teens and +1% in Total Viewers.
In fact, AMERICAN IDOL’s average so far this year for the first three telecasts is right in line with last year’s average, showing retention of 97% among Adults 18-49, 99% among Adults 18-34 and 97% in Total Viewers
HUMAN TARGET (Encore)
At 9p an encore presentation of the HUMAN TARGET preview event showed considerable growth versus its telecast last Sunday, gaining +17% among Adults 18-49, +53% among Adults 18-34 and +50% in Teens.
Competition
ABC ran repeats of Scrubs (0.8/2) and Better Off Ted (0.6/2) at 8p and 830p followed by originals of Scrubs (1.4/4) and Better Off Ted (1.3/3) at 9p and 930p. A repeat of The Forgotten (1.0/3) aired at 10p.
CBS’ NCIS (2.6/7), NCIS: LA (2.5/7) and the Good Wife (2.0/6) were repeats.
NBC’s two-hour Biggest Loser (4.1/11) was up from last week and was followed by The Jay Leno Show (2.0/6).
