Looking for another reason why Snapchat is an increasingly important tool for radio broadcasters?
You may want to take a look at a first-of-its-kind contest iHeartMedia is doing with the popular social media platform.
The nation’s top owner of radio stations on Wednesday (8/23) launched a social contest using Snap Map to give away tickets to Tuesday’s “iHeartRadio Secret Sessions By AT&T ft. Lorde” event in Los Angeles.
For a five-day period ending Sunday, iHeart is giving away a pair of tickets each day to an intimate live performance set for Tuesday featuring Lorde — at a secret location.
Entry for the contest is being done exclusively through Snapchat: L.A.-area residents can participate by finding iHeartRadio on Snap Map, represented by one of iHeartRadio’s Los Angeles on-air personalities’ Bitmojis.
In this case, it is Tanya Rad and Freddy Rivera of KIIS-FM 102.7 and Harms of KYSR-FM “Alt 98.7.” While in the same geo-fence as the Bitmoji, fans can take a snap and use a “iHeartRadio Secret Sessions By AT&T ft. Lorde” filter. Then, they can either send the snap to the iHeartRadio account with #iHeartLorde and #iHeartContest, or post the photo on Twitter or Instagram with #iHeartLorde and #iHeartContest.
iHeartRadio was one of the first brands to sign on to Snapchat’s Discover platform, and did so in 2015; this year saw the announcement of 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards winners through artists’ Snapchat acceptance speeches.
