Another chip off the Citadel spin-off block

A buyer has been found for Citadel overstock station KVLO-FM Humnoke AR, the sale of which was necessitated by Citadel’s acquisition of ABC Radio stations a few years back. The station is nominally part of the Little Rock Arbitron market.

Selling the station on behalf of Citadel Broadcasting Corporation is The Last Bastion Station Trust. The acquisition of Citadel itself by Cumulus is pending.

The buyer of the station is Arkansas County Broadcasters Inc., headed by Bobby Caldwell and C.B. Moery Jr. The buyers have 17 radio stations in the state of Arkansas, although none in the Little Rock market. It will pay $125K cash for the station.

KVLO-FM is not the sharpest knife in the Little Rock drawer, however. It is listed in the market by BIA, but with a 6 kW/328’ HAAT 101.7 MHz signal situated well east of the city, it puts only a fringe signal over the market’s population center.

Last Bastion has a deal pending for the sale of WMGL-FM Ravenel SC, and has two stations in Arkansas and one each in Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma on the shelf for sale.
