Another Hispanic Media Company Seeks More Foreign Ownership

MIAMI — In mid-April, it became known that Univision Communications wants the FCC‘s approval to give a Mexico-based wholly owned subsidiary direct ownership of Univision Radio.


A petition for declaratory ruling affirming the plan is likely to come soon, as reply comments in that matter were due June 21.

Now, the Media Bureau will turn its attention to the owner of Puerto Rico’s WAPA Television and a host of cable TV networks, which wants foreign investors to take on 100% ownership and voting interest.
