British singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding kicked off her career in her native country, but she has gained “a legion of fans in the U.S.” You’ll never guess how.
Here’s the entire comment from Goulding and her Cherrytree/Interscope record company: “She has also earned a legion of fans in the U.S. thanks to radio airplay and relentless touring that has seen her play to over 30,000 fans Stateside as well as festival appearances and a sold-out Katy Perry tour.”
Goulding’s upcoming album, Halcyon, is set for release 10/9/12.
Like all smart musical acts these days, Goulding and her label are pursuing all available avenues to gain exposure for her work, including internet resources, a free download of one of the album’s singles, and the aforementioned “relentless touring.”
RBR-TVBR observation: We just thought it was interesting that radio received such a prominent mention. No doubt it is because the radio exposure feeds into internet shopping and ticket buying to the benefit of Goulding’s career and Cherrytree/Interscope’s bottom line.
