FOX now has the longest in-season Thursday winning streak.


With the AMERICAN IDOL Top 3 Results show and the BONES season finale, FOX won the night across all demos and beat the next highest rated network by +68% among Adults 18-49 and +25% in Total Viewers.

FOX now has the longest in-season Thursday winning streak (18 weeks) in 12 years among nights in which both Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers were No. 1.

AMERICAN IDOL:  6.2/19, down -5% from last Thursday but will likely go up a few tenths in the finals this afternoon (as it has for the past several weeks)    
            
Versus the comparable telecast last year, AMERICAN IDOL is up +2% in Adults 18-49 and grew +12% in Total Viewers

AMERICAN IDOL was the highest rated program of the night across the board and outperformed the next highest rated program by +63% among Adults 18-49 and +54% in Total Viewers.

In fact, IDOL beat the combined 4-net competition in the 8p hour in Total Viewers by +7%

So far this season with Comparable Most Current ratings, AMERICAN IDOL retains 95% of Adults 18-49 and is up +3% in Total Viewers versus the same period last season.

BONES finale:  3.2/8, up +14% from last season’s finale (on 5/20/10) and is its highest-rated season finale in three years (since 5/19/08)                   

In the 9p hour the season finale of BONES outperformed the season finale of Grey’s Anatomy by +4% in Total Viewers (10.0 vs. 9.6 Mil.)

Competition

Following Wipeout (1.7/5, flat), ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy (3.4/9) and Private Practice (2.5/7) posted their lowest season finales ever, down -37% and -22% from their respective finales last year (5.4/15 and 3.2/9).

At 8p, CBS aired the season finale of The Big Bang Theory (3.5/12), down -34% vs. last year’s finale (5.3/14 on Monday 5/24/10). The season finale of Rules of Engagement posted its lowest-rated finale ever (2.5/7), down -22% vs. last year’s finale (Monday 9:30 on 5/24/10). The 2-hour season finale of The Mentalist finished the night with a 2.7/7, down -16% vs. last year’s finale (3.2/9).

On NBC, following back-to-back repeats of The Office at 8p (1.1/4) and 830p (1.5/4), the one-hour season finale of The Office delivered a 3.8/10 at 9p, up +12% from last season’s finale. In the 10p hour, the two-part season finale of Parks & Recreation posted a 2.4/6 at 10p and a 2.0/5 at 1030p, flat with its delivery last season.
