Another Thursday victory for Fox w/ 'American Idol'

Airing the AMERICAN IDOL Top 11 Results Show and an encore BONES, FOX won the night among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Teens and key demos and outperformed the next highest rated net for the night (ABC) by +57% among Adults 18-49 (4.4 vs. 2.8) and +74% in Total Viewers (14.8 vs. 8.5 Mil.).


Last night’s AMERICAN IDOL Results show posted a 6.2/19, up +9% in Adults 18-49 (6.2 vs. 5.7) and up +6% in Total Viewers (20.7 vs. 19.6 Mil) from last Thursday’s telecast. 

IDOL was the highest rated program of the night among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54 and Teens and beat the next highest rated program of the night (Grey’s Anatomy) by +72% in Adults 18-49 (6.2 vs. 3.6) and +105% in Total Viewers (20.7 vs. 10.1 Mil.)

In the 8p hour AMERICAN IDOL outperformed the next highest rated net by +158% in Adults 18-49 (6.2 vs. CBS’ 2.4), and outperformed the combined 4-net competition by +5% in Total Viewers (20.7 vs. 19.7 Mil.).

IDOL once again showed strong growth in the hour, gaining +21% in its last half hour vs. its first in Adults 18-49 (6.8 vs. 5.6) and +17% in Total Viewers (22.4 vs. 19.1 Mil.)

At 9pm an encore BONES posted a 2.5/7 among Adults 18-49.

Competition
Due to the nature of live sports, Fast Nationals for CBS are approximate. The NCAA Regional Semi-Finals posted a 2.5/7 for the night, down substantially from last year’s coverage which delivered a 3.8/11 from 8-11p in Fast Nationals before rising to a 3.9/12 in the Finals.
 
Following Wipeout (2.2/7, up +5%), ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy (3.6/10) was up +6% from its series low last week. At 10p, Private Practice (2.7/7) was up +17% from its last telecast in its regular 10pm time period (on 2/24/11), but season to date is down -18% versus its original performance last year (2.8/8 vs. 3.4/10).

NBC’s Community (1.8/6, up +6% from last week’s series low) and Perfect Couples (1.6/5, up +33% from last week’s series low) aired from 8-9pm. The Office (3.4/10) was up +6% from its last original, while Parks and Recreation (2.5/7) gained +39% from last week’s series low. At 10p, 30 Rock (2.0/6) (2.3/7) and Outsourced (1.5/4) both posted gains versus their series lows last week (+18% and +7%, respectively).
