Antonio "L.A" Reid joins Simon Cowell as X Factor judge


Antonio “L.A.” Reid, former Chairman of Island Def Jam Music Group will join Simon Cowell on the judging panel of THE X FACTOR, the singing competition series debuting this fall on FOX. Reid has launched some of the biggest acts in music, including Jay-Z, Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, The Killers, Bon Jovi, Pink, Usher, Jennifer Lopez and Rihanna.

Reid recently resigned as chairman of Island Def Jam, and is reportedly expected end up at Sony Music, which houses Cowell’s Syco Records, the label which releases music by X Factor contestants.

Reid boasts 33 No. 1 hits and three Grammy Awards.

Auditions for the THE X FACTOR are set to begin Sunday 3/27 in Los Angeles at the L.A. Sports Arena. The search for the next global superstar will continue in Miami, FL, on Thursday, April 7; Newark, NJ, on Thursday, April 14; Seattle, WA, on Wednesday, April 20; Chicago, IL, on Wednesday, April 27; and Dallas, TX, on Thursday, May 26.
