AOL’s MediaGlow publishing division announced the launch of Where It’s At, www.whereitsat.com, a new website that serves as a guided tour of iconic pop culture landmarks from music, film and television, complete with photos and background stories on why the landmarks are famous. The interactive site lets consumers play an important role by submitting landmarks to be included on the map. Where It’s At is powered by MapQuest, http://www.mapquest.com, and it’s one of 30 new sites MediaGlow, http://www.mediaglow.com, plans to launch in 2009.

Among the landmarks to discover is the real “Hotel California,” the hospital from “Grey’s Anatomy” and Napoleon Dynamite’s high school. All the points are plotted on the map so consumers can plan their own themed tours. Links to AOL Music, http://music.aol.com, Moviefone, http://www.moviefone.com, and AOL Television, http://www.aoltv.com, provide even deeper dives into the artists and titles featured in Where It’s At. In addition, users can subscribe to the Where It’s At RSS feed, http://www.whereitsat.com/rss/newspots, and follow it on Twitter at http://twitter.com/Where_Its_At.

Where It’s At is part of the AOL Entertainment Network, which includes AOL Music, Moviefone, AOL Television, BlackVoices, Asylum, Urlesque and others.
