A company “simplifying the lifecycle management of direct-to-consumer media applications” has named Bennett Theimann its CFO.

“I was attracted to Applicaster because of its unique approach to app lifecycle management through it’s SaaS platform, Zapp, and its fast growing global footprint,” said Theimann. “The digital landscape is evolving quickly and I am looking forward to building on Applicaster’s position as a leader in the industry, ultimately ensuring that media companies are able to manage apps throughout their lifecycle.”

Theimann will be based in the company’s New York City office and will report to Jonathan Laor, CEO and co-founder of Applicaster.

Applicaster works with media brands such as Hearst, DirecTV and Zee5.

The announcement comes on the heels of Applicaster’s $20 million funding round earlier this year. So far this year, Applicaster has increased the amount of supported vendors by 400% and doubled its global customer base. Going into 2020, the company will double the amount of platforms supported by Zapp, its flagship product.

“Accomplished leaders such as Bennett are a propelling force to our rapid growth and company culture,” said Laor. “Bennett brings a diverse background and a rich experience of scaling growth that aligns with many of the areas we are focused on. He has a deep understanding of content and tech businesses of all sizes, and I’m excited to see all the ways he will strengthen Applicaster’s value proposition as a category leader in the app platform market.”

Theimann started his career in traditional media at Gruner+Jahr, the global magazine division of Bertelsmann in the 1990s before moving into digital media in the 2000s. Prior to Applicaster, Theimann was the CFO at Conductor, a New York based enterprise SEO platform having also served as COO, and subsequently CEO, of the global mobile display company, Mojiva.
