Are labels passing the Eminems?

Rapper Eminem is set for a court date with Universal Music Group over just how much he should be compensated when UMG allows his work to be distributed from digital download sites such as Apple’s iTunes or by telcos for use as ringtones. According to The Wrap, the case revolves around softly-defined concepts such as licensing or distributing, and could dramatically affect the way the pie is split between artists and labels.

RBR/TVBR observation: Yep, there they go again, failing to work and play nicely together. How is it possible some in Congress are ready to jump all over radio’s historically benevolent relationship with musicians before even taking a glance at the poisonous relationship musicians have with the recording conglomerates?
