Not many companies are investing in new stations, which has made the spin side of the M&A game difficult for many other companies looking to sell. But Educational Media Foundation is sticking with its acquisitive frame of mind. However, it does not tend to do deals that set Wall Street on fire, and this is certainly no exception. EMF is getting KMRL-FM Buras LA from While Dove Fellowship for the bargain basement price of $10K. EMF will start out with a network affiliation agreement (its version on an LMA), but it’ll have to get the station up and running before the NAA will have any useful effect – the station’s been silent for over a just year. But when it does, EMF will have a Class C2 on its hand rather than the Class A that went off the air. It’ll go from 3 kw to 14.5 kw and the antenna will rise from 164’ HAAT to 656’. It operates on 91.9 MHz. Buras is on the peninsula down river from New Orleans, not far from the Mississippi delta.
