The College Radio Foundation is launching a national organization for all college radio students, alumni, and supporters to join. The new society’s mission? To explicitly celebrate and promote “the rich, ongoing history of college radio.”

The College Radio Society also seeks the involvement of the many generations of college radio alumni in the country.

“We plan to have lots of events that will celebrate the important continuing legacy of college radio, including a podcast, zine and other (virtual and in-person) events if possible,” says CRF Executive Director Lori Quicke. “There’s lots of stories and history that we cannot afford to lose.”

Starting at $3 per month, members will be invited to share archival materials and memories and contribute to a growing online community in the newly created CRS Facebook Group.

The College Radio Foundation recently organized the 12th annual World College Radio Day in October, which united over 700 college radio stations from over 50 countries. They also recently visited the White House and were welcomed by Vice President Kamala Harris. “Now into our 13th year, we want to bring together college radio alumni in the same way that we have united college radio stations for the good of the medium,” says Quicke.

The College Radio Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit, also organizes the yearly Vinylthon event. For more information about the College Radio Foundation visit: www.collegeradio.org.
