AT&T’s U-verse offering NBCU Olympic multiview

AT&T U-verse announced the launch of the U-verse NBC Olympics Application, a new TV app that lets viewers watch up to four different channels featuring Olympic content on their screen at one time. The app also provides NBC Olympics athlete bios, event schedules, and the latest headlines and medal counts straight from Vancouver to a U-verse TV screen.

“U-verse TV customers have a better way to watch world-class athletes compete at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games from this convenient and easy-to-use app,” said Jeff Weber, AT&T vice president of video products. “Watch four events at one time, or catch up on the latest Vancouver news without leaving the comfort of your couch.”

With the U-verse NBC Olympics Application, a viewer can choose which of the four channels appears as the main picture, and easily select and interact with channels featuring Olympic Games content from within the Multiview. The app is available on channel 85 to all U-verse TV customers at no extra charge.

AT&T introduced the award-winning Multiview app in fall 2009. U-verse TV customers receive Sports Multiview, Kids Multiview and News Multiview at no extra cost as part of every package.

AT&T, “proud sponsor of the U.S. Olympic Team,” says it offers many features that help Team USA fans wanting to catch every exciting Olympic moment. AT&T U-verse Total Home DVR lets them record up to four shows at once and play them back on any connected TV in the house. U-verse TV also offers an extensive High Definition (HD) channel lineup with more than 120 HD channels, including HD versions of all the NBC Universal channels showing Olympic events. And with fast channel change and picture-in-picture browse, you can channel surf between Olympic broadcasts without the delay experienced on other digital TV services and preview games on other channels.
